Sol Wise encourages you to come right here every morning and gather treasures of praise and worship to the Lord, Most High!
2 - Three Principles!
Psalms 5:
1 Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my meditation.
2 Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God, For to You I will pray.
3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.
NKJV
These verses give us many clues on how and when we should pray.
First, we understand that David prayed aloud - not silently in his mind.
We know that because he asks that the Lord will give EAR to his WORDS, and also heed the VOICE of his CRY.
Second we observe that David prays to the Lord.
He addresses the Lord as his King and his God and says that he will direct his prayer to that Lord.
This helps us understand that people might be praying to anything or anyone else and call that thing or person their God.
This means we need to be clear WHO our God is and we need to be submitted to OUR King and God.
Third, we notice that David says it is his habit to pray in the morning. We take that to mean that he prayed every morning.
Not only that but that when he prayed he looked up. Now maybe he looked upward physically. But what this tells us is that his prayer in the morning also had the effect of lifting him in his inner person.
His morning prayer encouraged his heart and caused him to go out into his day with the confidence that the Lord, his King and God would be with him and take him through whatever faced him that day.
Prayer:
Father, help me to pray with my voice to You.
Help me to know my King and God and be submitted to You alone.
And help me to establish a regular meeting place with you every morning, so I can grow in faith and love, and I too can look up,
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
When you visit us again, God willing, you'll find another meditation to encourage you.
